Eh, lyrical, and great composition without being"Lakeland Twee"
Pilgrim: Thanks David. The weather was 'twee' when this was taken - or an anagram using three of those letters. David.

Tranquil and peaceful like it very much.
Pilgrim: Thanks Tracy - it was just starting to rain when this was taken so it doesn't look much different in the colour version!! David.

This is lovely - the very essence of the Lake District, complete with weather. A great range of tones makes a very satisfying b/w image. Rydal Water is one of my favourite lakes - probably because it's fairly easy to walk around!
Pilgrim: Thanks Ingrid - one of my favourite places too. We try and get here at least a couple of times a year. We were on our way from Ambleside throught to Grasmere and back again. This was the driest point in the day - and it was still raining!! David.
This has got to go in my likeys. It is a beautiful, simple composition.
Pilgrim: Many thanks Bill - this was a typically wet day in the Lakes and I don't think it would have looked much different taken in colour. David.
